Anxiety and depression are very common in today’s society and can have such a debilitating effect on a person’s life that it is hard to function day to day without experiencing difficult to manage symptoms including physical discomfort (heart palpitations, headaches or other aches and pains), lethargy, incessant negative thinking and avoidance behaviour. In turn, when these conditions are not properly addressed, this can lead to panic attacks, isolation, problems with relationships, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, lack of confidence, self-harming behaviour and suicidal thoughts.
With a background in mental health nursing, I know the extent to which anxiety and depression can affect a person’s life, and how it affects those around them. I also know, from personal experience, that these conditions can be managed and overcome successfully. It gives me great pleasure to help people to heal from their mental health difficulties and enjoy a thriving happy life.
There are many factors that can affect our mental health, such as diet, exercise and lifestyle. Hypnotherapy is also a very successful tool which can be used to help with anxiety and depression. Through the subconscious, hypnotherapy can look at identifying root causes and help to change how you feel about these. It can also increase positive thinking by encouraging a change in mindset and increase your ability to cope with day-to-day challenges.
The number of sessions required can vary dependant on the individual’s circumstances. I will be happy to discuss this with you in our initial consultation.
I will send a form to complete prior to our first session. If you are coming for an in-person session, just bring yourself! If we are having an online session, a reliable internet connection and a comfortable place to sit during the session is required.
*Hypnotherapy is an effective tool which can be used to successfully treat a variety of issues; however, success is not 100% guaranteed and commitment from the client is an important part of the process.
Hypnosis is not 100% guaranteed to work for every condition in every person. It depends on the person’s commitment to change and whether the subconscious mind will accept the suggestions made in hypnosis. However, for many conditions, hypnotherapy is highly successful, for example, it is listed as an effective therapy for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Working with the subconscious mind is an extremely powerful tool which can be used to make permanent changes, almost everyone can be hypnotised, however a person cannot be hypnotised if they do not want to be!
Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, fears, phobias, pain, infertility, smoking and weight issues. Hypnotherapy can also be used to increase confidence or performance, for example in sport, work or creativity. Hypnotherapy can also be used for past life regression.
This depends on the nature of the goal or desired outcome that you wish to achieve. This can range from a single session or more. Prior to any treatment taking place, a free consultation will be given where a detailed history will be taken and any questions that you have can be answered. The number of approximate sessions needed will be discussed during the initial consultation.
If you have any further questions about hypnotherapy, you may find the answers in some of the most common questions I get here. Further answers can be found on my FAQ’s page.
